Luminous landscape forum9/25/2023 Yes and you can't buy either, if there is any interest in buying! I don ‘t pay any fees, so no posting of images. I went to FM so I could Buy and Sell, it has the best B&S of any site including eBay! But to B&S for sure you need to pay to join!Īgree. BUT to post images(I think) you need to join and some may balk at the fees. But you're right, IF everyone went there it would be much improved in the printer area. I've been on FM for about 5 years and came here because it was more specific. I agree but the FM printing section is not as dedicated and there is a lot more off printer banter going on. What if everyone here moves to one single website.the exchange of information and experiences would continue. But to me the FredMiranda forums are a very good place to share experiences and information. I’m pretty new here and was just getting acquainted with this site and it’s workings.Īnyway it would be a good place to go, especially if you’re talking large format. I have not read a lot of Keith's writings only having become familiar with him here but will certainly read more of this research from here on out. At least it seems to me, me being a big format printer. I was eluding mostly to printing as this is the printer section and there are very knowledgeable people about printers, papers and inks etc. i'm not really into reviews since I use what I use and am not interested in the latest and greatest type of things. Personally I've never read a review here. Interesting because people seem to be jumping immediately to reviews. I don't see LuLa reviews as a reasonable replacement for DPR reviews. IMO LuLa may be a good alternative forum for some of us. I realizeyou are talking about printers and not cameras, but the same holds if a reviewer holds their punches out of misguided brand loyalty or payola (Reichmann was independently wealthy so it was probably the former).įor printers, I like Northlight Images in the UK: This comforted my in my belief DPReview's reviews are the only objective and reliable ones on the Internet. Probably most that are into printing already know that some of the most knowledgeable printers are on that site.Īnyway it would be a good place to go, especially if you’re talking large format.įunny, I stopped going to the Luminous Landscape when Michael Reichmann covered up Leica M8 infrared sensitivity issues that Phil Askey at DPR correctly identified and flagged (despite Askey himself being a Leica user). A few years ago I was on The Luminous Landscape.
